Maghreb runners eye medals

Algerian Taoufik Makhloufi and Moroccan Abdalaati Iguider on Sunday (August 5th) won the two semi-final heats of the men's 1500m race at the London Olympics. Iguider's time makes him a front runner to win a medal in the final on Tuesday.

On Monday, Makhloufi will start in men's 800m, along with Morocco's Amine El Manaoui.

Also on Monday, Tunisian Habiba Ghribi will vie for a medal in the women's 3000m steeplechase final.

Moroccan Hayat Lambarki will compete in the women's 400m hurdles semi-finals, while fellow Moroccans Btissam Lakhouad and Siham Hilali will participate in the women's 1500m first round.
