Maghreb teams advance in Champions League
Esperance Tunis crushed Senegalese side ASC Diaraf 5-0 in an Orange CAF Champions League 1/8th final game, played on Saturday (April 23rd) at Rades. Dramane Traoré opened the score in the 9th minute, followed by two goals by Oussama Darragi in the 10th and 31st minute. Karim Mhirsi later scored in the 42nd minute, followed by Youssef Msekni in the 54th minute.
In other Champions League action, Wydad AC defeated TP Mazembe of DR Congo 1-0 in Casablanca thanks to a goal by Mustapha Allaoui in the 18th minute. MC Alger tied 1-1 with Interclube of Angola in Luanda. The Algerian side was forced to play with ten men after El Almi Daoudi was expelled nine minutes into the match. But Zinedine Bensalem managed to score the equaliser for Mouloudia three minutes into injury time.
