African competitions begin over week-end
The 14th Champions League football competition begins this week-end, local press and CAF reported on Thursday (February 11th). Ahly Benghazi will clash with Djoliba in Mali, Raja Casablanca will visit Fello Star de Labé of Guinea and Difaa El Jadida will play away against Balantas Mansoa of Guinea Bissau. Niger's Sahel SC will host Club Africain, while JS Kabylie head to Gambia to play Armed Forces FC. Esperance will face the East End Lions in Sierra Leone, Central African Republic's AS Tempête MOCAF will host Libya's Ittihad, and ES Setif will play away against the Diables Noirs of Congo.
The 7th Confederation Cup also begins this week-end with the first-leg matches. Libya's Tersana will host CR Belouizdad, while Ahli Tripoli play Chad and Morocco's FUS Rabat host Jaraaf de Dakar of Senegal. FAR Rabat, ES Sahel and CS Sfaxien have drawn byes into the next round.
