Former Algerian internationals launch new association
Some 150 former Algerian footballers launched a new association of ex-national and international players (AAIF) on Wednesday (May 20th) in Algiers, El Moudjahid reported. They elected Ali Fergani, a national team captain and coach from the 1980's, as the group's first president. Algerian federation chairman Mohamed Raouraoua pledged his organisation's support to AAIF. The association will work for promoting national football, futsal and beach soccer, Liberte reported.
