Mauritania appoints new football coach
The Mauritanian Football Federation introduced Alain Moizan as the new national coach on Thursday (February 14th), Panapress reported. The French-Senegalese player's career includes stints with AS Angoulême, AS Monaco, FC Olympique Lyonnais, AS Saint-Étienne, SC Bastia, AS Cannes, and the French national team. From 1985-1986, he was caretaker coach for Bastia and in 2005-2006, he coached Lyon La Duchère. He will lead the Mauritanian team through the combined 2010 African/World Cup playoffs. Mauritania is in Group 8 with Morocco, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
