The Terry Fox "Marathon of Hope" will be held for the third time in Rabat on 17 September. The proceeds will be given to the de l'Avenir association, a Rabat-based NGO working with children with cancer and their families. The initiative also aims at raising awareness of the dangers of cancer.

Moroccan officials, foreign ambassadors, athletes and NGO members have expressed their will to take part in the 10km race. A 5km march for families and children will be also organised during the day. The marathon is named after young Canadian athlete Terry Fox, who died from cancer. (Morocco Times)
