Morocco to build racecourse for camels in Laayoune
A 250-hectare, $800,000 camel racecourse will be built in Laayoune. The course is expected to host national and international camel races and aims at fostering camel breeding and protection in Western Sahara. The project includes construction of camel boxes, paddocks, water towers, a veterinary unit, and jockey rooms. A leisure and recreation area under Sahrawi tents will also be built as part of the project, which is to be completed in a year. (MAP)
