Tunisian athlete Hamdi Dhouibi took third place in the 18th Multistars Decathlon in Salò, Italy, the first leg of the IAAF Combined Events Challenge 2005. The Tunisian, who was in second place after the first day of competition, finished with 7774 points. American Phil McMullen won with 8107 points and Vitaliy Smirnov from Uzbekistan took second with 7825 points.

The international decathletes competed in the 100m, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400m, 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1500m. (IAAF)
