Algerian brothers Sofiane and Mustapha Megueni placed third in the T1 petrol category at the 27th edition of the Dakar Rally, which ended Sunday (16 January). The team, which placed 53rd overall, is one of the few participants who were not penalized once during the entire race.

The last stage of the 8,956km race was 37km stretch from West Africa's Atlantic Ocean beaches to Lac Rose, a pink lake just east of Dakar. Only 216 of the 465 vehicles that entered the Dakar Rally finished. (APS, TSN)
