Tunisian Swimming Champion Oussama Mellouli was voted Sportsman of the Year during an event organised by Tunisian daily Le Renouveau this past Thursday (23 December). 108 journalists picked Mellouli from a group of 54 athletes in the 37th edition of the Sportsman of the Year award. This is the second consecutive win for the swimming star.

"I thank all the Tunisian journalists for the confidence granted me," Mellouli said. "This election is the reward of 12 months work." The national football team received a special commendation from the journalists for their hard work in 2004. (La Presse)
