Algerian-born Physician Lauds Results of French Council of Muslim Faith Elections
Dalil Boubakeur, rector of the Grand Mosque of Paris, hailed the recent victory of conservative and moderate mosque networks in elections for the French Council of Muslim Faith (CFCM). According to him, the results showed that a large majority of French Muslims reject extremism.
"Let's keep up our guard against radical Islam," Boubakeur, an Algerian-born physician close to French President Jacques Chirac, told Europe 1 radio. He was re-elected head of the CFCM on Sunday (26 June). (albawaba.com)
