Algeria election faces resistance in Kabylie

Kabylie protesters advocating a boycott of Algeria's presidential election disrupted a campaign rally for candidate Ali Benflis, AFP reported on Tuesday (April 8th)

Djamel Benabdeslam, a leader of the Benflis campaign team, was speaking Tuesday in the Bouira town of M'Chedallah when some 100 young activists interrupted him.

Hundreds of Bejaia students also staged a march Tuesday to protest the April 17th poll, urging citizens to mobilise for "peaceful change", APS reported.

Last Saturday, Bejaia protestors stormed a rally organised by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika's campaign leader Abdelmalek Sellal.
