Tripoli marks liberation anniversary
Tripoli residents on Wednesday night (August 8th) began celebrating the first anniversary of the liberation of their city, Libya Herald reported. By 1am Thursday morning, thousands of people had filled Martyrs Square.
Street parties, free food and fireworks marked the city-wide festivities. A kilometre-long convoy of cars covered in flags and blaring horns also drove through El-Hani, Nufleen, Fashloom, Dahra and other residential areas before reaching the square.
