Interim government ends in Libya
Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) on Wednesday (August 8th) will hand over power to the new General National Congress, Libya Herald reported.
In a late-evening ceremony in Tripoli, NTC chief Mustafa Abdel Jalil will pass the reins to the oldest member of the 200-seat legislative assembly. The members of the body were elected on July 7th.
A conference room has been arranged in an upscale hotel in the Libyan capital as a makeshift assembly hall, with meetings due to begin on Saturday or Sunday, AFP reported.
