France convicts nuclear scientist of terrorism
A Paris court on Friday (May 4th) sentenced a nuclear scientist to four years in jail, after convicting him of plotting attacks for AQIM, AFP reported.
French-Algerian Adlene Hicheur, 35, worked on the Large Hadron Collider project at CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research) near Geneva. He was arrested in 2009 after intelligence services reportedly intercepted online correspondence with members of AQIM.
