Tunis holds International Labour Day marches
Tunisia on Tuesday (May 1st) deployed security officers along Avenue Habib Bourguiba and Avenue Mohamed V to secure the two authorised International Labour Day marches in the capital, Tunisie Numerique reported.
Thousands of Tunisians gathered at the headquarters of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) before marching on the capital's main avenue. Members of the newly established Tunisian Workers' Union (UTT) also planned to march down Avenue Mohammed V.
