Former Mali officials arrested
Former Malian Prime Minister Modibo Sidibe was arrested overnight in Mali, AFP reported on Tuesday (April 17th).
Former defence minister Sadio Gassama and Hamidou Sissoko, personal chief of staff to ousted president Amadou Toumani Toure, were also reportedly picked up at their homes and taken to a military camp in Kati, some 15 kilometres from Bamako.
The site serves as the headquarters of the junta that led the Mali coup.
A Malian security source confirmed the arrests and said they would be explained "when the time comes".
