Clinton supports open Algeria-Morocco border
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wrapped up her Maghreb tour Sunday (February 26th) in Morocco, Actu-Maroc reported. Speaking to 2M television channel before her departure, Clinton voiced her desire to see the land border between Morocco and Algeria reopened for the sake of promoting bilateral economic co-operation.
The two countries face "similar threats", Clinton said, noting that the US was working closely with North African counties, particularly in the fields of security and information-sharing.
"We will spare no effort to provide assistance to Maghreb countries," the top US diplomat said.
