UN panel continues Libya probe
The United Nations Commission of Inquiry on Libya is encouraged by the Libyan government's commitment to human rights, the UN News Centre reported on Tuesday (December 20th)
Libya is "taking steps to address the human rights violations that occurred during the recent conflict", panel chairman Philippe Kirsch said Tuesday.
Commission members met this month with government officials and NGO representatives, and interviewed detainees at the Matiga detention facility. Next month, the investigation will continue in Ajdabiya, Benghazi, Bani Walid, Brega, Misrata, Nalut, Sirte, Yefren and Zintan.
