Aisha Kadhafi releases audio message
The daughter of former Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi spoke out for a second time against the new Libyan government, a move that may violate the terms of her refugee status in Algeria, Tripoli Post reported on Wednesday (November 30th). In an audio message aired Tuesday on Syrian TV channel Al-Rai, Aisha Kadhafi urged Libyans to continue fighting on her father's behalf against the NTC, "even if you no longer hear his voice".
She released a similar statement in September, after which Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci said that steps would be taken to prevent further "behaviour of this kind".
Along with her two brothers, mother and dozens of family retainers, Aisha received asylum in Algeria after crossing the border on August 29th in a multi-vehicle convoy. She gave birth to a daughter in Algeria.
Libya's interim government has requested the extradition of Kadhafi's children to face criminal charges.
