UN Human Rights Council re-admits Libya
The United Nations on Friday (November 18th) voted to readmit Libya to the UN Human Rights Council. The UN member states also adopted a resolution welcoming recent commitments by Libya to protect human rights, democracy and the rule of law, and to cooperate with relevant international human rights mechanisms. Libya's membership was suspended on March 1st, following Moamer Kadhafi's crackdown on protestors.
