Muslim Brotherhood holds Benghazi congress
Libya's Muslim Brotherhood, banned during the Kadhafi regime, gathered in Benghazi on Thursday (November 17th) for its first public congress inside the country in almost 25 years, AFP reported. National Transitional Council officials, including Islamic Affairs Minister Salem el-Sheikli and Defence Minister Jalal al-Degheili, attended the opening ceremonies. Participants at the three-day conference will discuss whether to form a political party, Brotherhood leader Suleiman Abdel Kader said.
