Libya oil output grows
Oil production in Libya is expected to "easily" top 700,000 barrels per day by the end of the year, AFP quoted interim Finance Minister Ali Tarhouni as saying in Tripoli on Thursday (November 10th). Production is now at 570,000 daily barrels, up from 530,000 in late October.
Before the start of the revolution last February, the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) member produced 1.6 million daily barrels. Oil production had virtually ceased until the recovery of the first field in mid-September. About 10% of Libya's infrastructure was severely damaged during the eight months of conflict.
