Tunisia to announce coalition government

Tunisia's new coalition government will be announced within days, Al Jazeera quoted a senior official from Islamist political party Ennahda as saying on Thursday (November 10th).

"There is an agreement in principle that the defence minister will keep his place, said Samir Dillou, whose party won the Constituent Assembly elections in Tunisia last month. Interim Defence Minister Abdelkrim Zbidi has been credited for keeping order during the transition period.

The main contenders for the presidential post are Congress for the Republic (CPR) chief Moncef Marzouki and Ettakatol leader Mustafa Ben Jaafar, Dillou added. Talks on other portfolios are still under way, the Ennahda official said.
