NTC to investigate Kadhafi killing

Libya's new leaders on Thursday (October 27th) vowed to bring Moamer Kadhafi's killers to justice, marking a sharp break with their previous insistence that the deposed Libyan leader was caught in the crossfire with his own loyalists, AFP reported.

"We had already launched an investigation," National Transitional Council (NTC) Vice-Chairman Abdel Hafiz Ghoga said at a Benghazi press conference. "Whoever is responsible will be judged and given a fair trial," he said.

The NTC claimed earlier that Kadhafi had been killed by crossfire on October 20th. Disquiet has grown internationally over the Kadhafi death after NTC fighters hauled him out of a Sirte culvert where he was hiding. Mobile phone videos show him still alive at that point.
