Mussa Ibrahim capture unconfirmed
Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) on Thursday (September 29th) said fighters near Sirte claimed to have seized Kadhafi spokesperson Mussa Ibrahim, AFP reported. The fighters' high command in Misrata, however, said it was unable to confirm his capture. Libya's Al-Hurra Misrata television said it would broadcast footage of Ibrahim's capture, adding that the images showed him being detained in the back of a car outside Sirte wearing a veil. While on the run from rebel fighters, Ibrahim has continued to broadcast pro-Kadhafi statements from unknown locations.
In other news, Nigerien Prime Minister Brigi Rafini confirmed during a visit to France that Saadi Kadhafi was in Niamey and would remain there for now. "There's no question of him being extradited to Libya for the moment," Brigi Rafini said. Interpol has issued an arrest warrant for Saadi.
