Tunisia jails ex-Libyan PM
Tunisia sentenced former Libyan Prime Minister Al-Baghdadi Ali Al-Mahmoudi to six months in prison on charges of illegal entry, TAP reported on Thursday (September 22nd). Al-Mahmoudi was arrested Wednesday evening in Tamaghza, in the Tozeur governorate, while attempting to cross in an off-road vehicle into Algeria, Tripoli Post quoted Tunisian interior ministry spokesman Hichem Meddeb as saying.
In a telephone interview last month, Al-Mahmoudi told satellite TV channel Al Arabiya that he had defected from the Kadhafi government and recognised the NTC.
