Kadhafi seeks talks amid new rebel victories
Moamer Kadhafi is willing to enter into talks on the issue of a transitional government, Al Jazeera reported Sunday (August 28th). Moussa Ibrahim, spokesman for Kadhafi's government, told AP Sunday that the leader was still in Libya and sought to negotiate with rebels.
The announcement came after reports Saturday that rebels were in control of the Ras Jedir border crossing. On Sunday, rebels claimed to have taken Bin Jawad and were closing in on Kadhafi's hometown of Sirte, one of the last pockets of loyalist resistance.
