Tizi-Ouzou villages unite against kidnappings

Five Algerian villages on Saturday launched a local anti-terrorism crisis cell to monitor local security and confront abductions, Tout sur l'Algerie reported on Sunday (February 6th). The decision by village committees from Tazibt, Ait Mansour, Ighzer N'Bais, Azib Ahmed and Aït Hessane to mount a security partnership comes in response to the attempted kidnapping of an entrepreneur in Ihasnaouen. Over the last year, anti-kidnapping rallies, general strikes and protest caravans have won the release of several Tizi-Ouzou citizens abducted by terrorists.
