African diaspora conference begins in Tripoli
An historic African diaspora conference opened in Tripoli on Saturday (January 15th), PANA reported. Problems and challenges facing African immigrants will be discussed at the 3-day Libyan event. Some 400 participants reportedly aim to create a new federation to defend the legal rights of African expatriates in Europe. Talks will also focus on creating joint committees of representatives from African immigrant NGOs, the European Union, the United Nations and the African Union.
