Floods threaten Nouakchott
Heavy rainfall caused flooding in parts of Mauritania's capital city on Wednesday (August 4th). Several neighborhoods on the outskirts of Nouakchott, where the drainage system is limited, are under water. In July, flooding destroyed homes and killed livestock in southern Mauritania's Guidimakha and Gorgol regions.
