Algeria opens largest Maghreb shopping centre
The largest commercial and recreational centre in Algeria will open its doors on Thursday (August 5th) in the Algiers suburb of Bab Ezzouar. It features nearly 100 shops, eight cinemas, restaurants, a market, bowling alleys, galleries and office space. According to the developers, the mall is also the largest commercial centre ever built in the Maghreb. Some 1,500 job openings are expected to be created at the facility, built at a cost of some 70 million euros. Studies are under way for a similar project in Oran, one of the developers told AFP.
