Morocco begins major regionalisation initiative
King Mohammed VI of Morocco on Sunday (January 3rd) addressed the new Advisory Committee on Regionalisation, MAP reported on Monday (January 4th). The 22-member committee, chaired by Moroccan Ambassador to Spain Omar Azzimane, has six months to work out a plan "specific to Morocco's needs, rather than an imitation of foreign models," the king said. A key objective of the programme is to benefit the "southern provinces", he added.
