France arrests two Algerian terror suspects
Two Algerian-French brothers, aged 25 and 32, are in French police custody for alleged links with al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, local and international press reported on Thursday (October 8th). Computer equipment was seized when authorities raided the suspects' apartment in Vienne.
In related news, Algeria expects to eradicate of al-Qaeda terrorism in the country within the next 18 months, Reuters reported on Thursday (October 8th). "I am talking about the surrender, and, I don't like this word but we have to use it, the extermination of terrorism," National Consultative Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights head Farouk Ksentini said in an interview.
