France to compensate nuclear test victims in Algeria
French Defence Minister Herve Morin on Wednesday (May 27th) presented a long-awaited draft law to compensate victims affected by French nuclear tests in the Algerian Sahara and French Polynesia between 1960 and 1996, Ennahar reported. The French government estimates that nearly 150,000 civilian or military personnel participated in the 210 nuclear tests.
