Al-Qaeda in Iraq confirms death of Morocco-born "number 2"
Al-Qaeda in Iraq confirmed the death of top commander Abu Qaswarah in an audio message published on jihadist forums on Wednesday (October 22nd), international press reported. Iraq Defence Ministry spokesman General Mohammed al-Askari said on October 16th that the alleged al- Qaeda second-in-command was a Swedish citizen born in Morocco. Qaswarah was killed in Mosul October 5th in a fire-fight with coalition forces, officials said.
