Three soldiers wounded, five terrorists killed in Algeria army operation
Three Algerian soldiers were seriously injured in a bomb attack on an army patrol on Sunday (December 23rd) in the Aurès Mountains near Khenchela, press reports said on Monday. On Saturday, the army defused three home-made bombs near a military checkpoint in Kabylia. Local press quoted security sources as saying on Tuesday that five suspected terrorists were killed in search operations following the Sunday blast.
In related news, a Biskra court sentenced 26 people on terrorism charges. An Annaba court also sentenced Lyes Bouchech to death for the murders of seven community guards and a local mayor. All but two of the 27 sentences were pronounced in absentia.
