Algerian army commences operations in Blida, Medea and Ain Defla provinces
The army surrounded some 100 terrorists at the end of last week in an operation in the border area of Blida, Medea and Ain Defla provinces, El Khabar quoted security services in Mostaganem as saying on Sunday (July 29th). Reportedly, the terrorists belong to a group called "Group Protectors of Salafist Preaching". The number of terrorists surround by security forces was reportedly revealed to security services by a detained terrorist, who also said that the terrorists were planning deadly attacks on and kidnappings of foreign employees working on the east-west motorway.
In related news, Ech Chourouk reported that a bomb exploded in Boumerdès on Sunday next to a shop in Bordj Menail district in Boumerdès province. No human casualties were reported, but the shop and neighbouring buildings were damaged. Allegedly, the bomb was laid by terrorists, to whom the owner had refused to pay ransom.
