Algeria’s presidential alliance agrees on candidate for Assembly speaker
National Liberation Front (FLN) Secretary General Abdelaziz Belkhadem announced Sunday (May 27th) after a meeting with his colleagues from the Algerian presidential coalition, Ahmed Ouyahia of the National Rally for Democracy and Aboudjerra Soltani, leader of the Movement of Society for Peace, that they reached a consensus on presenting Abdelaziz Ziari as a candidate for speaker of the new National People’s Assembly (APN). He also said the alliance affirmed an amendment to the elections law as an early priority of the new parliament. (Liberte, El Khabar)
