High level Tunisian-Portuguese meeting held in Lisbon
Tunisian Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi and his Portuguese counterpart, Jose Socrates, met Tuesday (March 13th) in Lisbon. Discussions focused on future plans for bilateral political and economic relations, based on the agreement of friendship, good neighbourhood and co-operation signed in February 2006. The meeting underscored the importance of developing new fields of partnership and investment, such as communication technologies, bio-technologies, health and pharmaceutical industries and engineering. Ghannouchi and Socrates also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest, including Euro-Mediterranean co-operation and the security and stability of the Mediterranean basin. (TAP)
