Algiers hosts Arab Tourism Fair
The Arab Tourism Fair opened in Algiers on Wednesday (February 28th), to examine the prospects for development of cultural tourism in Arab countries. At a concurrent seminar, experts will review projects to develop several sites of cultural and historic interest like the Egyptian pyramids, the Jordanian city of Petra, the architectural treasures of Yemen and rock sculptures in southern Algeria. Tour operators will also have the opportunity to present their latest offers on such trips. Representatives from Egypt, Mauritania, Yemen, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian Territories and Algeria are attending the fair. The event is one of Algiers’ initiatives as Arab Cultural Capital for 2007. (APS, Ansa)
