Eni confirms oil deposits in Tunisia's Sahara region

Italian oil and gas company Eni announced on Monday (January 29th) that it has successfully continued its exploration campaign in Tunisia's Sahara region, positively completing drilling tests of two exploration wells -- Karma-1 in the Adam concession, 700km south of Tunis, and Nakhil-1, in the Bordj el Kadra permit, located close to the Eni-operated plant for treatment and production of oil. Production tests show that Karma-1 has an overall capacity of more than 4,000 barrels per day of oil, confirming the great potential of the Adam concession. Nakhil-1 has a production capacity of 1,200 barrels per day. The new oil discoveries will boost Tunisia’s oil production to close to 90,000 barrels per day. Tunisia has proven oil reserves of 1.7 billion barrels. (Upstreamonline.com, Yahoo Italia)
