Tunisian President Zine Al-Abidine Ben Ali met with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani at Carthage Palace in Tunis on Wednesday (November 22nd). Talks focused on Tunisian-Qatari relations and co-operation prospects between the two countries in "service of the common interests", the official TAP reported. Tunisia closed its embassy in Qatar last month in protest over an interview the Qatari-owned Aljazeera channel aired with Moncef Marzouki, an opposition activist based in Paris who called for "civil resistance".
