Alcatel wins 25m-euro contact for next-generation network in Morocco
Alcatel was selected by Morocco Connect, a supplier of fixed and mobile telecommunications services, for the deployment of a next-generation network. The 25m-euro agreement envisions the establishment of a network in five major Moroccan areas in its first phase. Commercial exploitation of the services is planned for the beginning of 2007. Alcatel will also assist the operator in the development, operation and maintenance of the network.
The project aims at reducing Morocco Connect's costs, increasing the number of customers and generating additional revenue from new services such as voice-over internet protocol and virtual private networks. (Aujourd'hui Le Maroc)
