Morocco's Birou aims to eliminate illiteracy by 2015
Morocco plans to reduce its illiteracy rate to less than 20 per cent by 2010 and to completely eradicate it by 2015, Anis Birou, Secretary of State overseeing illiteracy and informal education, told participants at the first White House conference on Global Literacy, which opened Monday (18 September). He said two million people have benefited from the literacy programme set up four years ago. (MAP, USINFO)
