Algeria, France to discuss military co-operation
Algerian Army Chief of Staff Major General Ahmed Gaid Salah started an official visit to France on Tuesday (2 May). He will discuss the development of military co-operation with French counterpart General Henri Bentegeat, according to a statement from the Algerian Defence Ministry. Salah's visit follows Bentegeat's trip to Algeria in June 2003. According to the statement, it "is part of plans to develop bilateral military co-operation and will allow both parties to look at matters of common interest". (Liberte, AFP)
