Morocco, China to reinforce bilateral co-operation

Morocco and China agreed on Monday (24 April) to make joint efforts towards further development of bilateral friendship and co-operation in various fields. The agreement was reached during talks between King Mohammed VI and Chinese President Hu Jintao, who arrived in Rabat Monday (24 April) for a three-day official visit. Hu said both China and Morocco are undergoing reform and development and bilateral co-operation has entered a new development stage. He made a three-point proposal to boost diplomatic contacts, economic co-operation and cultural and tourism relations. Both sides also exchanged views on Sino-African relations and international and regional issues of common concerns, agreeing to further strengthen co-operation within the framework of the China-Africa Co-operation Forum.

After the talks, the two leaders attended a signing ceremony for a series of bilateral co-operative agreements in the fields of economy, trade, science, technology, culture, healthcare and tourism. (Xinhua, Le Matin)
