Algerian films screened at African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival of Milan
Algerian films Douar de femmes by Mohamed Chouikh and Barakat! by Djamila Sahraoui will compete in the African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival, which kicked off Monday (20 March) in Milan. Douar de Femmes will be screened at the opening ceremony of the16th edition of the festival. Both films were released in 2005 and screened in Algeria in January 2006. They depict the life and anti-terrorist struggle of Algerian women during the 1990s' insurgency. (APS)
