Morocco urges craft industry to boost production
The Moroccan craft industry's production must be increased to meet demand, which is being reinforced by the improvement of production chains, said Minister of Tourism, Craft Industry and Social Economy Adil Douiri. In an interview with the Morocco Times published on Monday (6 March), Douiri stressed that the "2015 Vision for Craft Industry" is to assure the continuity and the regularity of production, as "customers' demand is very strong." He said that the objective is to double the turnover of small and medium craft industry enterprises by 2015, emphasising the need to boost the number of enterprises and create a new category of producers.
"We are going to launch a call for tender. The winners will be groups of investors who will create new companies or take over existing ones, committing themselves to a plan of recruitment, and an increase of contracts with the state and national and foreign distributors," Douiri explained. The main objective is to bring the products nearer to the customers, Douiri added. "We have to open for handicraft products the doors of modern shops, commercial galleries, malls, and supermarkets." We are proud of Moroccan crafts. However, is the programme which was broadcast on the second channel really aiming to develop the industry and crafts in Morocco? If it was really seeking to help talents, they would have selected a winner in every category. Thank you! A daughter of the people.

Are we really an Islamic country...? Do events happening in our Arab society not concern us? Or are we waiting for our turn as in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine?
