Morocco reiterates its commitment to support peace in Africa
Morocco is strongly committed to supporting peace in Africa, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation Omar Hilal said Tuesday (14 February) in Addis Ababa. He was present at a two-day Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) meeting convened to discuss peace consolidation in unstable countries. The Japanese initiative was set up in 1993 to co-ordinate collaboration between Asia and Africa in promoting Africa's development.
Hilal, who headed the Moroccan delegation at the meeting, stressed that his country contributes to UN efforts to maintain peace in Africa by taking part in peacekeeping programmes in Somalia, Congo and Cote d'Ivoire. He also stressed that Morocco is ready to support all African countries in terms of expertise and staff to support their development projects. (Morocco Times)
